Shakespeare

well, since this pertains to oral traditions, as well as another of my classes, i figured i would make mention of the fact that myself and several of my Shakespeare classmates are going to be performing a bastardized version of Shakespeare's Measure for Measure. i have to memorize lines!!!! *whining*

anyway, i'll be playing both Lucio and Claudio and i can only thank any deity that i am NOT playing Isabella, Angelo, or the Duke.

so doubtless you'll see me muttering to myself as i am building my memory palace... hoo boy.

another class that has strong oral traditional elements is this semesters World Lit. section. we're studying scandinavian lit which is seeped in orality.

well, i suppose we'll see how this goes.

Memorable Thoughts

this is something of a difficulty. the mind is always thinking something and usually several somethings at once. so who says what's memorable? who defines what is a memorable thought? the most memorable thought of my day might be something about the beauty of heavily frosted trees, where as someone else may be out doing einstein.

so really which is more memorable? or is that really what this is about?

New Blog

grr new blog.

Anyway, i suppose i will start with the history of my family name, Goss. It's Austrian and was originally Von Goss. Yeah, big change.

The last thing i see before i fall asleep is the glow in the dark stars stuck to my ceiling in the shape of several common constellations.

The names of the muses, hmm. well, Mnemosyne is the mother, Calliope of epics, Urania of astronomy, Clio of history, Euterpe of lyric song, Melpomene of tragedy, Terpsichore of dance, Erato of erotic poetry, and Thalia of comedy. Talk about some tongue twisters
